What is a holistic nutritionist?

Holistic nutrition is the science of using natural whole foods along with focusing on the body, mind, spirit connection to work towards optimal health. A holistic nutritionist will provide you with a dietary plan, along with a lifestyle plan, to help you achieve your health and nutrition goals.

Please note - a nutritionist is not a doctor and it is still important to follow up with your health care practitioner for all medical concerns. A nutritionist is not here to diagnose or treat diseases, only to guide you to make choices that may impact your health in a positive way.

Will I have to give up all of my favorite foods?

Jamie is passionate about teaching people how to make healthier versions of their favorite foods. Together you will come up with a plan that you and Jamie feel comfortable with.

Can you help me get off my medications?

Jamie never advises people to go off any medications. However dietary changes can improve various health conditions and may result in you and your health care practitioner deciding that you may not need those med’s anymore.

Can I drink alcohol on the program?

That depends on what your current health concerns and goals are. Jamie typically recommend moderation to all of her clients, however if you are coming with serious health concerns or just want to take part in her detox program, she may suggest avoiding alcohol.

Will the food I eat taste good?

YES. It is Jamie’s passion in life to teach people how to make healthy food taste amazing. The only way she has made lasting dietary changes herself, is because she learned to make the healthiest foods taste amazing.

I eat at McDonalds once a week; will you take that away from me?

Jamie will never promote or advise that anyone eat McDonalds ever. However, she can work with you to build an amazing diet the rest of the week, and maybe one day you won’t really feeling like eating there anymore.

Will I be told to go gluten/dairy free?

No. Unless she feels it will truly benefit you. However when she builds your individual nutrition program, you will be part of the process, and she will customize it to what you think you can do, and how you can build from there. However, if together you do decide that it is necessary for you to take certain foods from your diet, she will provide you with menu ideas that are delicious, that don’t make you feel deprived in any way.

I live far away and will not be able to visit in person, is that ok?

This is exactly why she started providing online consulting. It is Jamie’s passion in life to help as many people live their healthiest, most vibrant lives. Using online resources such as Skype and without the access to people all around the world. Amazing.

Will I have to log my food intake?

Yes. In the beginning, Jamie asks all clients to log their food intake. It is a tool that helps her help you. It is highly recommended.

If I decide to do the 30 day detox, will I be only be eating carrots and lettuce?

No! There are so many delicious food options for the detox. You will learn how to eat amazing food while gently helping your body remove toxins. Amazing, right?

Do I have to eat organic to follow your program?

No. Jamie does however suggest eating organic whenever possible, especially for meats, eggs, dairy, and the dirty dozen

Will I have to follow a strict menu plan?

No. You will be offered meal ideas, cooking techniques and a list of foods to enjoy. Therefore you can create your own menu plan. Jamie finds most people would rather have the amazing ideas of what to cook and prepare than be stuck to a rigid menu plan. However, if you would like a menu plan that is something that can provided with an extra charge.

How do I know if I need to do a detox?

Let’s make something clear; we are all detoxifying 24 hours a day every day. Our bodies are designed to detoxify unwanted substances. The problem is in our modern day society we are bombarded with toxins in the food we eat, the water we drink, the air we breathe, what we put onto our skin, etc. Following a detoxification program a few times per year is an absolute essential for a healthy vibrant life. Following a guided gentle detoxification plan is essential in our modern day society. Please note - guided is key! Some of the over the counter detox programs can be very harsh and actually do more harm than good. Please talk to your health care provider before doing any type of detoxification program.

I am a busy mom, or I work long hours or I just don’t want to be in the kitchen all day long preparing foods. Will I still be able to follow your program?

Yes. It is Jamie’s goal as a nutritionist to meet you where you are at in your life and create a plan that will meet your current needs. For example, she used to have a lot more time to spend in the kitchen before having a toddler running around her house. Jamie has currently had to revamp her meals to make them much easier and faster to prepare as a result of her current lifestyle being a busy mama.

Do companies give you incentives to recommend their products?

No, the products Jamie recommends and/or sell are the ones she truly believes in. Jamie does not recommend any products to anyone that she does not feel will impact their bodies in a positive way. Jamie is truly passionate about helping people feel their best and reach their health goals, and will only recommend products if she believes they are a part of helping you reach your goals. Please note that products are only a suggestion and never pushed on you. Jamie believes the core foundation of her work is to teach you how to use whole nourishing foods to heal your body.
